Introducing Griffin James Leeuw!

He finally made his long awaited entrance on Thursday morning at 1:32. Weighed in at 8lb 8oz. and 21 inches long. Everything went so well and we are thankful for a strong, healthy baby boy. We are grateful to be home starting are transition into a 2 child household. So far, so good. He has a great, laid back personality. Parker is doing amazing as well. He loves to be involved with the things Griffin needs but not so much that I can't get anything done.

Daddy and his two boys!
Grandma Leeuw is a nurse on Boven at Holland Hospital so she gets to give them all there first bath which is soo special. It was great to have her there and to have someone so close that knows what is going on and can answer any questions that we have!
That is one proud Big Brother!

Weekend Fun!

Last weekend we had family in town for my nieces baptism and we able to enjoy an afternoon at the pool on Saturday! All the parents would really like to thank Jeff for being the one to pretty much entertain the kids in the pool while the rest of us sat around and talked. Thanks again Honey!
Below is Parker trying to warm up after being in the water for quite a while. We had a great weekend and wish that we could all get together more often.

An Egg Update! For those of you who are wondering.... The eggs that we had are now at our Uncle's barn. A chicken has actually adopted them and is sitting on them until they hatch. I Didn't know that animals took to well to that but hey, now I don't have to worry about ruining anything. We are however down to three eggs, but they are good eggs and they should be hatching within the next week. Parker gets to visit them quite often and can't wait to see what they look like.
A picture of Parker and his Daddy on Fathers Day! Yes I know that Fathers Day is over and done with but I thought I would share them anyway. We had such a great day and I am so thankful for the Father that Jeff is to Parker. They truely are best buds and have so much fun together. Parker has learned more than I could have imagined from Jeff and has so many of the same personality traits it's kind of scary.
This is Jeff and his Dad along with Parker. The three generations.
Not the best picture of Parker but it had been a really long day for him. Parker and Papa Jim!

Our Newest Adventure!

So, for reasons I wont go into, we ended up taking 7 wood duck eggs under our wing. Parker has really enjoyed taking care of them and running to check every 1/2 hour or so to see if they have hatched yet. We have had to get rid of three of them already b/c they were no good, but are hoping that the last 4 will hatch sometime in the very near future. If they hatch, and everything is alright we are really praying that Parker's Grandma Mary, who is an animal lover, will keep them and we will get to visit them regularly. Anyway, above are a couple pics of what we have going on.

I'VE BEEN TAGGED....

Okay, I know it took me a couple days but I thought I should probably follow through with being "tagged". So here are five facts about me.....

1. I am afraid of swimming in large bodies of water. I got certified in scuba about 7 or 8 years ago and after I went for the first time, I suddenly developed a fear of large bodies of water. I can't stand the fact that there are animals, large and small that can swim along side of me and possibly take a nibble if they really wanted.

2. I am one of those Moms that needs to work. Don't get me wrong, I love being home with Parker (which is my favorite job) and am looking forward to the next little boy, but I am also looking forward to being able to go back to work. I need the adult conversation and such. I believe that it makes me a better mother.

3. I am counting down the days until I can sit on my couch and enjoy a great glass of wine. Or maybe a Malibu and diet. It has been 9 months and a stressful 9 months at that.

4. I love to type. I used to sit at our computer when I was a lot younger and just make up stories just so I could type them up. Even worse than that is that sometimes when I am watching T.V. or talking to someone, I will type out (in my head) what is being said. I really can't believe that I just admitted to that. SHHH don't tell anyone.

5. I Hate FEET! Many of you know this about me. I have always hated feet. Don't get me wrong, I love to take care of my own feet, AKA Pedicures, but to look at or touch or be touched by another persons feet, it may be the end of me. This is something that really bothers my husband. It is so bad that many, many , many nights I wake up in fear of his feet touching me. I get annoyed very easily if people rub there feet together, scuf there feet while walking on hard floors and just wiggling there toes. I have been known to get a blanket and wrap peoples feet just so I don't have to see them or hear the noise they make when rubbing together.

Okay, now you know me a little better. Promise me that you won't hold any of these weird things against me.

Baby Update!

So after listening to Doctors orders, we were able to keep this little boy inside for 36 weeks which was our goal. I feel like I have done my job as a mother. I went to my appointment this morning and found that he is surely getting ready to make his appearance. I am already to 3cm and over 50% some other stuff. ( I don''t know who all reads this so I don't want to get too graphic) Anyway, Doc said he doesn't think that I will go within the next week, but I would really, really like to make it at least 1 more week. Parker was right on time, a great size and such an easy baby and I would love for that to happen again. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind going a little early, but not 4 weeks. They have told me that I am measuring a little big and I will always have above average sized babies, so that makes me feel a little better.

Anyway, I guess I am asking for prayers that I will last one more week. Thanks everybody and we will keep you posted!
